Before owning a Stroll publication, Heather Kohberger spent her days (and many nights) managing events at a high-end wedding venue, an hour from home and a world away from balance. “Weddings are full of joy, but they’re also full of weekends and stress,” Heather said. “Becoming a publisher gave me back my family. It gave me back my calendar.” It was the perfect second act for this working mom.
Two years after starting her franchise, Heather hasn’t missed a dance recital or a baseball game. “I’m home for dinner most nights, but we really do sit around the table together,” she joked. Yet, the path to success was far from easy. During her ramp-up, Heather’s father’s health declined, and after his passing, she became a caregiver for her mother. Not long after, her teenage daughter suffered a life-threatening health crisis. “If I hadn’t been with N2, I wouldn’t have been able to keep my business going,” Heather said. “Because I was, I never had to leave her side.” Heather runs her publication through Stroll, a brand within The N2 Company, which supports community publications nationwide.
Supported by her N2 community, Heather kept going, and today, Stroll Edinburgh continues to thrive. “This opportunity changed my life financially, spiritually, and personally,” she said of her second calling. “It gave me the freedom to put my family first and work with people whose values align with mine.” For Heather, success isn’t defined by titles or numbers, but by time; time with her family, time for her faith, and time to live the life she once only dreamed of. “My husband has always been our primary provider. And now, there’s a solid chance that I’m going to be the one who takes care of our family financially. And I’m so proud of that.”
