How Luci Scott Found Fulfillment in Local Storytelling

When people think of “mission-based” work, things that often come to mind include nonprofits, volunteer work, and charity. But Luci Scott would like to offer a different perspective: community building.

Before working with The N2 Company, Luci Scott managed regional accounts for Parade Magazine, one of the country’s most widely circulated publications. Her corporate life was filled with travel, strategy meetings, and calls with major newspapers. It was fulfilling work, but it came with a cost, especially as a mother of two. Then everything changed.

Becoming a publisher through The N2 Company didn’t simply shift her schedule; it transformed her life. “I wake up happy and excited to start my day,” Luci shared. “There’s a balance that didn’t exist before. I have control over my time, income, and how I show up for my family and community.” The role surprised her. She hadn’t expected an opportunity to build a business that offered both financial success and emotional fulfillment. But what moved her most wasn’t the numbers. It was the impact.

Through publishing Greet Duxbury, Luci helped raise awareness and connection for residents living with multiple sclerosis within Duxbury and Plymouth County; an organic community connection that began with a cover story and grew into something bigger. “It really made us all incredibly happy to know that kind of connection happened because of the magazine,” she said. And the stories don’t stop there. After a Greet Hingham cover story featuring a beloved veteran, Luci received a call from a woman in town who had lived just 14 houses away from him for over 40 years. After reading his story, she introduced herself, and the two are now happily dating. “Your magazine changed my life,” she told Luci.

That’s the power of local storytelling, and the heart behind everything Luci creates. Luci’s magazines are more than publications, from highlighting teachers to giving middle schoolers a chance to see their writing in print. They’re proof that when you align passion with purpose, the impact multiplies. “I feel so fortunate,” Luci said. “I’m not just making a living. I’m building the community I live in and loving every minute of it.”
