As our nation marks its 250th Anniversary, it is a privilege to recognize the Veterans and Active Military neighbors who have worked to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. The Kissanes’ journey began in 1974 at Fort Sam Houston. Jon served as a Medical Service Corps Officer, while Kathi served as an Army Nurse. Their shared dedication to the country laid the foundation for a partnership that spanned military assignments across the United States and Germany.

This July, as the nation celebrates a significant historical anniversary, the Kissanes will celebrate an incredible milestone of their own: 50 years of marriage. Their story is a powerful reminder of the personal sacrifices made by military families to serve the greater good.Reflecting on the Values of Service

The Kissanes encourage all of us to take a moment this summer to display our flags and reflect on the values that our Veterans have worked so hard to preserve. Their life of service is a beacon for our community, reminding us that the strength of a nation is built on the dedication of individuals committed to one another and their country.
