For the Danbury family, life is a lot like baseball. It is built on teamwork, commitment, preparation, and making the most of every opportunity. Whether they are cheering from the stands, coaching from the dugout, excelling in the classroom, or gathering with loved ones for the holidays, Ryan and Audrey have created a family culture centered on hard work, gratitude, and making memories together.
Since moving to Arbor Springs in December 2020, the Danburys have embraced everything they love about the Newnan community. For Audrey, returning home was especially meaningful. A Newnan native and 2006 graduate of Newnan High School, she always hoped to raise her own family near the place where she grew up.
Their journey back home, however, included quite a few stops along the way.
Ryan, who grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Valdosta High School, met his future wife while both were attending Valdosta State University. Audrey played softball for the Blazers while Ryan was a member of the baseball team. What started as a college romance soon turned into a lifelong partnership built on shared values, a love of sports, and a desire to build a strong family together.
After marrying in 2012, the couple embarked on an adventure that would take them across the country. Ryan joined the United States Air Force, and military life led them first to San Antonio, Texas, where their oldest son, Cannon, was born. Later, they moved to Sacramento, California, where they welcomed their second son, Case.
Those years brought new experiences, lifelong friendships, and valuable lessons about resilience and adaptability. They also deepened the family’s appreciation for service and sacrifice.
After six years of active duty service, Ryan transitioned to the Air Force Reserve and was stationed at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Georgia. The move provided the perfect opportunity for the family to return to Newnan and establish roots near relatives and longtime friends.
Today, both Ryan and Audrey have successful careers while remaining actively involved in their children’s lives. Ryan works as a Territory Sales Representative for SITECH South, while Audrey serves as an Executive Assistant for Kiewit Infrastructure.
The boys are dedicated student athletes who work just as hard in the classroom as they do on the baseball field. Cannon, 12, and Case, 11, maintain straight A’s, participate in Beta Club, and consistently demonstrate the discipline and determination their parents strive to instill.
Of course, baseball remains a major part of life in the Danbury household.
Case recently completed his first season with the 6-4-3 DP Jaguars 10U organization in Marietta, while Cannon competes with the South DeKalb Tribe Gold 12U team. Their dedication to the sport has already resulted in exciting opportunities, including both boys earning selection to the Peachtree City Little League All-Star team. Even more special, Ryan serves as the team’s head coach.
For him, coaching is about much more than wins and losses. It is an opportunity to teach young athletes about character, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance. Watching his sons grow through the game he loves has become one of the greatest joys of fatherhood.
That passion for baseball runs deep.
Ryan was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2008 and understands firsthand the opportunities and life lessons the sport can provide. Today, he enjoys sharing that experience with young players and helping them develop both on and off the field.
Audrey also has a memorable baseball story of her own. During the Braves final season at Turner Field, she was given the unforgettable opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, a moment she still treasures today.
Not surprisingly, some of the family’s favorite memories have been made around baseball.
Before Cannon and Case were born, Ryan and Audrey set out on what they still consider one of their most memorable vacations. Over the course of six days, they attended six Major League Baseball games in six different cities. Their baseball tour included stops to watch the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Nationals. Today, they dream of recreating that adventure with their sons and eventually visiting every Major League stadium in the country.
Underlying all of these experiences is a deep respect for military service and the generations who came before them. The Danbury family’s military legacy extends well beyond Ryan’s own service in the Air Force. His father, aunt, and uncle are all retired Air Force veterans. Ryan’s grandfather served in the United States Army, including service during the Vietnam War. On Audrey’s side of the family, her grandfather also retired from the Air Force. Their family’s history reflects a tradition of answering the call to serve, a legacy they proudly honor.
The Danburys are quick to express their gratitude for all men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform and for the sacrifices made by military families across generations. That sense of gratitude, along with their commitment to family, education, community, and country, continues to shape the way they live each day.
For the Danburys, Arbor Springs is more than a neighborhood. It is home. And like any great team, they are building a legacy one inning, one memory, and one family moment at a time.
