On June 9, the Town of Prosper came together for a deeply moving ceremony to recognize the remarkable military service of the Seguin family. Nominated by Prosper Historic Society President Jack Dixon and former Economic Development Executive Director Mary Ann Moon, the Seguins represent a staggering legacy of commitment to the Armed Forces.
The recognition program, a collaborative effort launched in March 2026 by the Town Council, Prosper Historic Society, and the Prosper Rotary Club, highlighted the service of eight Seguin family members. Six were present to accept their honors: retired Colonel Kenneth Seguin (USAF), former Master Sergeant Sharon Seguin (USAF), former Captain Alexander Seguin (USA), former Captain Leanne Seguin (USA), retired Major Jefferson Seguin (USAF), and Major Joseph Seguin (USA). While former Captains Rachel and Gregory Seguin were unable to attend from out of state, the entire family was honored with certificates, flags, and Rotary Club challenge coins.
The evening also paid tribute to the broader community of local heroes, honoring Prosper veterans Jeff Bankard (USAF), Adam Olsen (USA), Winfred Robinson (USAF), Henry Robinson (USA), Ronald Underwood (USAF), and Terell White (USA). It was a powerful reminder of the spirit of service that thrives within our town.
